Miskolc Holding plc wins grant

The 41.2 million HUF (€150,000) is to be used for the operation and development of the Hungarian Materials Science and Nanotechnology Cluster.

A Miskolc initiative, the Hungarian Materials Science and Nanotechnology (MANO) Cluster was established on 27 March 2008. The establishment of this network is the first significant outcome from the exemplary partnership between the key participants in this sector of industry and this scientific field in Hungary, which in many respects is outstanding.

‘In the past year significant successes have been achieved: new small and medium-sized businesses have joined the Cluster, and the Cluster’s members have participated in international and Hungarian tenders,’ said Mr Gergely Soós, Cluster Manager. It is a positive development that, within the framework of measure 1.2.1 of the Northern Hungarian Operative Programme, Miskolc Holding plc has won 41.2 million Hungarian forints (HUF) as a non-repayable grant for the operation of the Cluster, the preparation of joint projects, and the development of information technology. The total cost of the project is 56.6 million HUF (€210,000).
